Our version is carefully recreated in reclaimed ebony wood, combining this meaningful Catholic image with the natural beauty and character of aged hardwood.

Crafted from Aged Reclaimed Ebony Wood

Each pendant begins with a carefully selected piece of reclaimed ebony wood.

Instead of using newly harvested wood, we use ebony recovered from older, high-quality furniture and wooden objects such as vintage jewelry boxes, dressing tables, and other fine woodwork.

Because this wood has naturally aged over many years, it has developed a dense, hard, and stable character. This makes it especially suitable for creating small religious pieces with detailed carved elements.

The San Damiano design is first CNC carved to establish the intricate structure and details. Our artisans then refine the carving by hand, carefully working on the figures and decorative elements of the cross.

The pendant is then hand-sanded and hand-polished to achieve a smooth finish while preserving the natural character of the ebony.

Natural Oil & Beeswax Finish

The finished cross is treated with pure refined mineral oil and natural beeswax.

We do not use paint or a plastic coating to cover the natural surface of the wood.

This finishing process helps bring out the deep character and natural grain of the ebony while giving the cross a smooth, subtle sheen.

Since every pendant is made from natural reclaimed wood and finished by hand, no two pieces will be exactly alike. Small variations in grain, color, and texture are natural characteristics of the wood and part of the beauty of a handmade piece.

Adjustable Waxed Leather Cord Included

Each San Damiano Cross comes with a waxed leather necklace cord.

The adjustable sliding design allows you to change the length of the necklace according to your preference, making it suitable for different styles of wear.
