This medal carries two of the most beloved images in Catholic devotion, carved on either side of the same piece of wood. On the back, the IHS monogram beneath a small cross, radiating outward like sunlight — the ancient shorthand for the name of Jesus, worn close to the chest for centuries.

A Cross Carved From History

The ebony used for this medal isn't freshly cut wood. It's reclaimed from antique furniture — old jewelry boxes, vanity tables, pieces that once sat in someone's home for generations. Wood that has rested this long is naturally denser and more stable than new-cut ebony, which often stays "green" even after months of drying. What you're holding has already stood the test of time, and it will keep standing.

Made By Hand, Not By Machine Alone

Each medal begins with CNC precision, then is finished entirely by hand — on both sides. Our artisans carve the fine details of the Sacred Heart on one face and the IHS sunburst on the other, one by one, then hand-polish every piece to a soft, natural sheen. No two pendants are ever perfectly identical, because no two hands carve exactly the same way.

The final finish uses only pure mineral oil and beeswax — no synthetic lacquer — so the wood stays true to what it is: real ebony that only grows richer with age.
